What goes wrong when you store tyres yourself

  • Not enough room — tyres deform under their own weight when they are pressed together.
  • Temperature — tyres left next to a heat source, or out in the cold, which summer tyres particularly dislike.
  • Load — heavy things stacked on top of them over the winter.
  • Sunlight — months in a spot that catches direct sun.

Worth knowing

  • We follow proper storage practice, which is what decides how many seasons a set survives.
  • You can collect your set at any point — there is no need to wait until the storage term runs out.
  • Already storing with us? Book a fitting and your wheels will be waiting at the workshop at the agreed time.

Frequently asked questions

  • What affects the cost of storing wheels?

    Four things go into the price:

    • wheel size — the main factor. An R17 set takes noticeably less rack space than an R21, and the rate follows: from 140 zł for R12–16 tyres to 460 zł for R23 wheels;
    • tyres or wheels on rims — a mounted set is wider and heavier, so it costs 20–40 zł more;
    • vehicle class — vans and larger SUVs run sizes outside the standard grid, and those we quote individually;
    • time — the price list covers a season, meaning six months. Shorter or longer periods are calculated pro rata.

    The whole rate is in the table on this page. Nothing is added at collection.

  • How long does a storage season last?

    A season is six months — the gap between one tyre change and the next. Winter sets usually stay with us from around April to October, summer sets from October to April. The prices in the table cover exactly that.

    There is no fixed collection date. If spring arrives early or winter drags on, the wheels wait as long as they need to — you simply call when you want them back. For storage shorter than a season or longer than a year we agree a price separately.

  • What conditions are the wheels kept in?

    In a locked, ventilated warehouse at 18 to 35 °C and around 80% humidity, out of direct sunlight. UV dries out the rubber compound, and that is where the fine cracks on a tyre sidewall begin.

    Wheels lie on racks individually, not stacked on top of each other. That matters: a tyre pressed under the weight of three others for six months deforms permanently and can wobble once fitted. Sets on rims are stored flat, loose tyres upright, as the manufacturers recommend.

    For comparison: a garage drops below freezing in winter and passes 40 °C in summer, and a balcony adds full sun on top of that. A tyre loses its flexibility there in a single season.

  • Do I have to bring the tyres in myself?

    You do not. We collect the set from an address you give us and bring it back when the changeover comes round. One phone call is enough to arrange a time — no loading four wheels into the boot and no wondering where to put them in the meantime.

    If you would rather bring them yourself, we take them in Warsaw. Call ahead so you know someone is there to receive them.

  • Do you store loose tyres without rims?

    Yes, and it is cheaper. The price list has separate rates for tyres and for wheels on rims — the difference comes down to rack space, since a mounted set simply takes more of it.

    Loose tyres are stored upright and rotated from time to time so they do not deform at one point. Wheels on rims lie flat, where the air pressure spreads the load evenly and rotating is not needed.

  • How do I collect my wheels without having tyres fitted?

    Call +48 577 118 771 and tell us where they should go. We will deliver the set to an address you give us or straight to the garage where you have booked the changeover — you do not need to come and get them.

    If you prefer to collect in person, we will have the set ready for the hour you name, so you are not waiting while it comes off the rack.

  • Where do I drop tyres off for seasonal storage?

    We are located near Warsaw, between Janki and Piaseczno, close to Warsaw Chopin Airport. Our convenient location provides easy access from Warsaw and nearby districts and towns, including Mokotów, Ursynów, Ursus, Raszyn and Pruszków. We also offer convenient access to the main roads connecting Warsaw with surrounding areas.

    We take deliveries during opening hours: Monday to Friday 8:00–17:00 and Saturday 9:00–13:00. Call before you set off and we will confirm a free slot and have everything ready, so you are not kept waiting.

  • What happens to the wheels before they go on the rack?

    We look them over first: tread depth, the condition of the sidewalls, any cuts or bulges, and whether a rim is cracked. If anything looks doubtful we say so straight away — it is better to hear about a worn tyre six months ahead than on changeover day, when you suddenly have to buy a new one.

    The set is then labelled and assigned to its owner, so there is no chance of a mix-up on collection. Before we hand it back we prepare the wheels for the season, so they are ready to drive on with nothing further needed.

  • How do I reserve a slot?

    Leave your phone number and wheel size in the form on this page — we will call back during opening hours, confirm a free slot and agree a time. If you do not know the size, choose “not sure”: we will read it off the sidewall when we collect.

    You can also call +48 577 118 771 directly. Reserving takes no deposit and nothing to sign in advance.

  • Do I need to book in advance?

    It is worth it. Tyre changes in Poland pile into two short windows — roughly March and April, then October and November — and everyone looks for space in the same week. Rack space is finite, so at the peak it can run out.

    Outside those periods you can usually bring wheels in from one day to the next. The simplest thing is to call or leave your number, and we will check availability for the date you need.

Tyre storage in Warsaw

Want your tyres to stay safe and usable all year round? Our tyre storage near Warsaw means a complete approach to storage and proper care of your set through the whole season. The wheels do not sit in the corner of a garage — they lie on a rack, at a steady temperature, out of the sun and away from the damp that ruins rubber faster than mileage does.

What tyre storage costs

Storing tyres in Warsaw (Chopin Airport area) usually costs between 200 and 400 zł a season, depending on what goes into the warehouse and for how long. Our price list is public and worked out by wheel size — from R12 to R23, with separate rates for loose tyres and for sets on rims. There are no extras that only appear when you collect.

Our tyre storage is priced sensibly, but nothing is saved on the conditions. The table on this page shows the full rate for six months — the length of a typical season between one tyre change and the next.

Where is the best place to store tyres?

In a room with a steady temperature, out of direct sunlight and with controlled humidity — conditions a garage, a cellar or a balcony cannot give you. Rubber copes badly with frost, heat and UV; a tyre kept on a balcony loses its flexibility in a single season.

  • Conditions — 18 to 35 °C, a ventilated room, humidity around 80%. Wheels lie on racks rather than stacked on each other, so they do not deform under their own weight.
  • Security — the warehouse is locked and supervised. Every set is labelled and assigned to its owner, so there is no chance of a mix-up on collection.
  • Availability — we hand wheels back at any point during opening hours, not only at the end of the season. If you need them sooner, one phone call is enough.
  • Flexibility — we store full seasonal sets and single wheels, loose tyres and wheels on rims. We can collect them from you and bring them back if you would rather not drive them around yourself.

That way you do not need to find space at home or wonder what state the set will be in by the next changeover. Leave your phone number in the form and we will call back to confirm a free slot.
